Boston Red Sox Say Goodbye to Yankee Stadium; Miss Sweep

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

The Boston Red Sox narrowly missed sweeping a three game series against the New York Yankees in what is likely to be the Red Sox last visit to old Yankee Stadium.

After manhandling the Yankees the first two games of the series, the Red Sox blew a lead in the seventh inning to spoil a nice outing by Jon Lester.  The Sox lost the third game.

There were a lot of great games played by these two teams in the old stadium.

The Red Sox and Yankees will meet again this year at Fenway Park September 26th-28th.

Red Sox Let a Chance Slip Away Versus Yankees

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

After winning the first two games versus the Yankees, the Red Sox had a great chance to take a third win last night with the bases loaded in the ninth inning with no outs, but the Sox were unable to get it done.  The Sox are now four games out of first place, but there is half a season yet to play and it is very unlikely the Rays will be able to sustain their lead with so many games to be played versus the Sox and Yankees.

Too early for the Red Sox vs. Yankees?

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Too early for the Red Sox vs. Yankees?  Maybe its the cool damp Boston April weather, but this most recent series has not had too much excitement.  Perhaps it is more likely due to the fact that Derek Jeter has not played any of these games.  Still, 3 games down, sixteen more to go.  It is going to be a long season.
