Red Sox and Yankees Split Yankees Stadium Series

Behind an impressive 8-inning outing by pitcher Josh Beckett and two monster home runs by Manny Ramirez, the Red Sox gained a split of the two game series by winning 7-5.  The Red Sox now lead the AL East and will not face the Yankees again until July.

Red Sox Steal Two From Cleveland

The Red Sox really have the Cleveland Indians’ number.  After two amazing ninth inning victories versus the Cleveland Indians, the Red Sox are on their way to Yankees Stadium for a short two game series versus the Bronx Bombers.

Too early for the Red Sox vs. Yankees?  Maybe its the cool damp Boston April weather, but this most recent series has not had too much excitement.  Perhaps it is more likely due to the fact that Derek Jeter has not played any of these games.  Still, 3 games down, sixteen more to go.  It is going to be a long season.

Yankees Exhume David Ortiz Jersey From New Stadium

A Boston Red Sox fan, who also worked on the construction crew for the new Yankees Stadium, had laid a David Ortiz Red Sox jersey in the concrete of the new stadium in a bid to jinx the New York Yankees.  The Yankees exhumed the Ortiz jersey on Sunday and may sue the construction worker.  The Yankees may put the jersey up for charitable auction. 

Red Sox and Yankees Clash Horns Tonight

If the two teams can avoid the seventy percent chance of rain forecated for tonight, the Red Sox will take on the New York Yankees for the first time in the 2008 season tonight at Fenway Park.  Clay Buchholz is scheduled to face the Yankees for the first time in his career if the rain hold out.
